Hostinger Review: Affordable But Is It Good For Your Website?

Hostinger has carved a niche for itself as a comprehensive web hosting provider. From beginner-friendly options to feature-rich plans, they cater to a wide range of website needs. It is well-known for it’s affordable prices and easy-to-use hpanel. But is it good enough for your website? We will discuss all the pros and cons of Hostinger on this blog post and also we will discuss who should consider using Hostinger. But first let’s talk about the services they provide.

Hostinger Services:

Hostinger: Managed WordPress Hosting

Managed WordPress hosting: Hosting developed for WordPress with ongoing support for all other platforms. Get top-notch performance for your website, regardless of the framework. Price starts at $2.99/month (The premium plan), if you need a small ~10 pages website with an estimated monthly visitor of ~10,000 then this plan is for you. Things you get with the premium plan: free domain for 1 year, unlimited free SSL (lifetime), free email (lifetime), up to 100 websites in one plan, 100GB of SSD storage, unlimited traffic, Free automatic website migration, Free 1-click WordPress installation, Free WHOIS Domain Privacy Protection, and many more. There are two higher plans, Business Plan ($3.99/month) and Cloud Startups ($9.99/month).

Note: Hostinger also offers a free hosting plan and Single Web Hosting plan that starts from $1.99 per month in the US and €1.49/£1.49 per month in Europe and Uk. You will not find that on the Home page. I don’t know why, maybe they will remove it shortly. But for now you can find these 2 plans through this link: https://hostinger.sjv.io/zNVYB0

Hostinger: High-performance VPS Hosting

VPS Hosting: It runs its own operating system and has its own dedicated resources, including CPU, RAM, storage, and bandwidth. Therefore, customers can get dedicated resources and full root access. There are 4 plans for Hostinger VPS hosting, KVM 1 ($5.49/month), KVM 2 ($6.79/month), KVM 4 ($8.99/month) and KVM 8 ($17.99/month). Things you get with the basic plan (KVM 1): 1 vCPU core, 4GB of RAM, 50GB NVMe disk space, 4TB bandwidth, 1 snapshot, weekly backups, dedicated IP addresses, full root access, AI assistant, malware scanner.

Why Choose Hostinger Cloud Hosting

Cloud Hosting: Cloud hosting combines the power and reliability of a virtual private server (VPS) with the simplicity of a shared hosting service to create an optimized hosting environment. Unlike traditional hosting, cloud hosting uses a network of servers to ensure better performance and availability of websites and applications. Hostinger has 3 plans for Cloud Hosting, Cloud Startups ($9.99/month), Cloud Professional ($13.99/month), and Cloud Enterprise ($29.99/month). Things you get with the Cloud Startups plan: 300 websites, 200GB NVME memory, 3GB of RAM, 2 CPU cores, daily backups, free domain, free SSLs, free emails, unlimited traffic, free CDN, dedicated IP addresses, 24/7 customer support and many more.

Email Hosting: You get free email with all hosting plan. But they have some limitations. That’s why they have 2 paid plans, Business Starters ($1.99/month) and Business Premium ($3.99/month). Things you get with the Business Premium plan: 50GB email storage, 50 forwarding rules, Email alias, Antivirus check, Advanced anti-spam, Cloud-based infrastructure.

Hostinger AI website builder

Hostinger Website builder (AI): Hostinger Website Builder is a perfect AI tool that allows creating a website or an online store without any experience in coding or design. The whole process is based on customizing a website template. Hostinger Website Builder is free with all hosting plans, but for more enhanced functionalities, they have 2 paid plans for the AI builder. Website Builder Premium ($2.99/month) and Website Builder Business ($3.99/month). With both plans, you get a free domain, free email, drag & drop editor, 150 templates, marketing integration, edits from mobile, 30 day money back guarantee and 24/7 customer support. The major difference between these plans is that with the premium plan you don’t get AI image generator, AI writing writer, AI blog generator, AI heatmap, AI SEO tools and e-commerce functionalities. But with the business plan, you get everything.

Ok, now let’s talk about the Pros and Cons of Hostinger.

Pros of Hostinger:

Speed Performance: Hostinger has impressive website loading speeds, crucial for user engagement and SEO ranking. They utilize reliable servers and caching technologies to ensure your website zips along for visitors.

Uptime Guarantee: Downtime directs to lost business and frustrated visitors. Hostinger offers a 99.99% uptime guarantee, ensuring your website remains accessible for your audience almost all the time.

Hostinger Global Data Centers

Globally Distributed Data Centers: For a geographically diverse audience, Hostinger’s network of data centers strategically placed around the world can be a game-changer. This ensures faster loading times for visitors regardless of their location.

24/7 Live Chat Support: Hostinger’s responsive 24/7 live chat support ensures you have a helping hand whenever you encounter an issue, keeping your website running smoothly. What I love most about Hostinger are their customer support and easy-to-use hpanel. Even their AI bot is more helpful than some of the competitors’ customer support.

Easy-to-use Hpanel: Hostinger’s user-friendly hPanel simplifies website management. Even beginners can navigate essential tasks like installing applications or managing databases with a visually appealing interface. You can argue about the service

Security: Website security is paramount. Hostinger includes SSL certificates with their plans to encrypt communication between your website and visitors. Additionally, they offer security features to safeguard your website from malware, DDos attack and other online threats.

Scalability for Future Growth: As your business grows, your hosting needs might evolve. Hostinger offers a variety of plans, to make sure it always matches your needs.

Budget-Friendly Options: Especially for beginners, affordability is a key concern. Hostinger shines with introductory pricing that’s easy on the wallet. While renewal rates might be higher, they still remain competitive compared to some web hosting providers.

Cons of Hostinger:

No Phone Support: While Hostinger offers 24/7 live chat support, some users might prefer the convenience of phone support. This is currently not available, so troubleshooting via chat might be the only option.

Renewal Rates: Introductory pricing can be quite attractive. However, be aware that renewal rates might be higher than initial promotional offers. One pro tip for you guys, they give discounts in various occasions throughout the year, so if you renew your plan during that time, you can just renew in the introductory price.

Fewer Advanced Features (for VPS): For users requiring highly technical configurations, Hostinger’s VPS plans might offer a more limited feature set compared to some competitors.

Personal thoughts:

I have 2 websites, one is this one and another one is https://businesssuitehub.com/, both of them are hosted on Hostinger. You can already see the performance of this website. Hostinger is surely a good hosting provider. But let’s be honest, you have to remember the price. From my perspective, Hostinger is the best unless you don’t have a mountain of content or your site doesn’t have like 100k monthly visitors. For example, if your site has a lot of pages/posts (let’s say 100 or more) and they have a lot of high quality images or self hosted videos, or if you have more than 100k monthly visitors, you might want to switch to a top-end hosting provider like Kinsta.

I have used almost all the providers out there because I build WordPress websites for clients, that’s why I’m quite familiar with almost all the platforms. And I can say that, if a hosting provider is so popular, you can rely on them. While there are surely differences between them, they are still good. And all the providers is unique in their own way, so different providers are good for different types of people with different needs. I didn’t have any bad experience with any providers till now, doesn’t mean I will not have any bad experience in the future, maybe I will have bad experience with my favorite Hostinger, who knows?
